Case Study:

We were eager to find new ways to connect and engage with our congregation.

Find New Ways to Connect With AI.

It came to a head when members of our church council began to actively bring up the lack of excitement and participation from some of our members, particularly the youth. I knew I had to do something, but I also knew that I had to find options that wouldn’t stretch me to the breaking point.

Thankfully, I had friends in other industries who had recently shared how they were using new AI tools. Particularly, I had one conversation that shared how a colleague had not just saved time, but used it to come up with innovations and “outside the box” ideas.

Eventually, the conversations led me to reach out to ChurchBee for their one-on-one call.

We even went over ways to use recorded sermons to create versions in simplified English, for church members who might not speak English as their first language, and versions that could be rewritten to be age-appropriate for even the youngest members of our congregation–complete with illustrations or even pages related to the sermon for the children to color!

I realized just how much opportunity there was to leverage the work we were already doing, and massively expand and amplify the output we generated from our time. Being able to make content more attractive to different age ranges in our church, with just a few clicks, also has the potential to be transformative for us. We're finally able to provide our congregation with the innovation and variety they've been craving, thanks to ChurchBee.

Like a lot of church leaders, one of my biggest struggles is time management. Doing my best to help my congregation feel welcomed, supported, and spiritually nourished is already enough to keep me occupied for 30 hours a day. Combined with juggling family life, managing church logistics, and trying to stay up to date with how quickly the world and technology is changing, and I was really starting to burn the candle at both ends in a way that wasn’t sustainable.

One of the consequences of that burnout was the lack of creativity or innovation in the ways I was engaging my congregation. I was falling squarely into the “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it,” camp; but repeating the same sorts of activities year in and year out sucked out some of the energy and vitality from our church.

I wasn’t sure if it was going to be mostly taken up by introductions and “fluff,” but I was relieved to see that we hit the ground running.

One of the first things the call made me realize is how powerful it could be to get some outside perspective. I had done some initial research myself, but I was blown away by how many tools I was totally unaware of, and how many others could be used in ways that had never remotely occurred to me.

Right off the bat, we went over all of the ways that recordings of church sermons could be used to create dozens of different activities. There were tools that could instantly process my recording and turn it into group discussion questions, devotionals, summaries, and more.

Bottom Line:

One of AI's most value opportunity's for pastors is its ability to repurpose old content in new and exciting ways. Done right, this can save you countless hours, while creating innovative and engaging opportunities for connection with your congregation. We would be happy to help you and your team explore the possibilities for yourself.
